The Corps Programmes include a core curriculum divided into:

 

-A programme which addresses socialization and personal development and;

 

-A Special Orientation Course that exposes participants to specialized training that will prepare them for placement within the job market setting.

 

 

These training programmes are offered to individuals between the ages    seventeen (17) and twenty four (24).

Jamaica Business Development Centre

 

Programme: Building Youth for National Development

B.Y.N.D Training in Entrepreneurship

 

This programme is administered in collaboration with Heart NTA and the National Youth Service.

 

The required age range for applying for such a programme is seventeen(17) to thirty five(35) years old.

 

The main aim of this programme is to foster training in business development and this is facilitated by a grant of $30,000 per person.

 

This grant is provided as a start for the individual in any  entrepreneurial task  being undertaken  whether it be in the field of craft, food, fashion, music or barbering. (etc)

 

Another component of the B.Y.N.D programme is the formulation of a business plan for the individual, where consultation and a business strategy is offered to the individual.

Moneague College

 

This institution has been re-structured to operate in a more multi-disciplinary format and now offers both training in teaching skills and also many other community college programmes, designed to foster the development of youth for the labour market.

Heart NTA/Learning for Earning Program (LEAP)

 

Skills/Employment Centre

The Skills/Employment Centre  focusses on providing viable employment opportunities for those at-risk youths over 16 years of age.

Through the activities of this Centre, youths will not only be provided with marketable skills but will be placed in a situation to facilitate their achieving financial independence and a sustainable livelihood.

American Field Services (AFS) Intercultural Programmes

Provides intercultural learning opportunities for youth and young adults.
