The Ena Williams Learning Centre was initially established as the WES Computer
Centre in 1990, however, the name was later changed to the current one. Initially it offered
computer courses only, however, this has been expanded to include classes for
remedial students as well as GSAT, GCE Ordinary Level, GCE Advanced Level,
CXC and CAPE examinations.
There is no entry requirement for
most of the courses, the exceptions being GCE Advanced Level and CAPE subjects
which require good CXC and/or GCE Ordinary Level passes. The classes are
small and individual attention is strongly emphasised. Students are
encouraged to work at their own pace in fact, they decide when
they are ready to sit the examinations.
The Centre conducts classes from
Monday to Saturday. The operations of the school from Monday to Friday are
divided into morning and evening sessions. Morning sessions are from
7:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon while afternoon sessions are 4:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
Classes on Saturdays are from 10:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Students are
required to seek their own financing, however, when it is possible the Ena
Williams Learning Centre assists with job placement.
